The medium-wave transmitter stationed on the Klewenalp, which was built after the start of the Second World War, was used to provide the Swiss population with radio coverage in the event that the land transmitters were destroyed or captured in hostilities. Together with the Swiss Yodelling Association and five sub-associations, Bergbahnen Beckenried-Emmetten AG is planning a spectacular alphorn world record attempt on 31 August 2024. At least 555 alphorn players are to gather on the Klewenalp and play choral melodies together.
