The Alpine descent has been celebrated in the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch since 2003. Every September, seven alpine families in traditional costume parade 200 cows and cattle from their rustic alpine huts around Sörenberg down to Schüpfheim. They are accompanied by colourful folklore groups.
